Norma Alarcon is a feminist literary scholar. Alarcon has dedicated most of her work to the representation of Latina women in all aspects of life. She is perhaps one of the most widely recognized Chicana feminist activist scholars in the world.
A specialist in feminist critical theory, cultural criticism, and studies of Chicana literature, Alarcon published several major articles on Latinas throughout her years at Berkeley. Her study of the Anglo-American feminism and women of color had a significant on other Chicano and Chicana students and colleagues.
